ABOUT Frank Stockton Illustration

Frank was born in Southern California and reared on a diet of Jackie Chan movies, Superheroes, Star Wars, Ralph Bakshi films, Underground Comix, and Italian Renaissance Painting. He is a father, husband, and artist.

Some of the work in this portfolio has been featured in American Illustration, Communication Arts, Juxtapoz , and Heavy Metal magazines. In 2009, he was featured on the cover of Communication Arts; in 2010 he was nominated for a Comics Industry Eisner Award for Best Short Story; in 2012 he won a Silver Medal in Editorial Illustration from the Society of Illustrators. He has a BFA in Illustration from Art Center College of Design, and an MFA in Drawing and Painting from UCLA. He teaches drawing, painting and illustration courses at Moreno Valley College and Pasadena City College outside of Los Angeles.
